Chicago Midway Airport

HEAPY provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection services for the evaluation and analysis of the Chicago Midway Airport Parking Garage.  The report covered the 6-level terminal and 7-level economy parking garages.

The scope of services provided for the evaluation of the current condition of the structures and preparation of construction costs for restoration. This included an assessment of the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems servicing both garages.

Parking Garage Assessment

Condition of visible storm drainage piping and storm inlet drains and structures.
Storm water sump pumping stations if applicable.
Fire protection systems including fire pumps if applicable.
Electrical power systems.
Lighting systems.
Emergency power systems.
Emergency lighting systems & egress lighting.
Fire alarm systems.
Mechanical ventilation systems including CO monitoring equipment.
Visual survey of motors and hardware associated with fire doors.

HEAPY’s evaluation considered the functionality, code compliance, remaining useful life, and projected capital costs for replacement and/or repairs.
