Fifth Third Bank New Prototype Branch
Size 5,000 SF
HEAPY was entrusted by Fifth Third Bank to provide comprehensive mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering design services for the construction of a new branch in Milford, Ohio. The project aimed to consolidate two existing branches into a single, innovative space that reflects the Bank’s evolving service model with a focus on client comfort, convenience, and safety.
This new branch represents a departure from traditional banking environments. The largest Fifth Third Bank branch to date, HEAPY collaborated closely with the project team to design a spacious 5,000 SF branch that fosters an open and inviting atmosphere. By breaking down traditional barriers between customer service representatives and clients, the design enhances the banking experience, making clients feel at home while ensuring their safety and confidence in their banking partner.
Fifth Third Bank prioritizes comfort, functionality, and aesthetics in branch design, with a keen focus on seamless integration of technology and adaptability for future upgrades. Technology design included security systems such as CCTV, motion detectors, and secure access control, aligning with Fifth Third Bank’s commitment to client and employee safety.
In addition, the team ensured adherence to the Bank’s proprietary standards (e.g., airflow, diffuser location). The building controls system for this branch is also integrated into the Bank’s real-time, IoT (Internet of Things) data monitoring and oversight system. This centralized system allows for timely identification of maintenance issues and helps direct allocation of internal resources.
To enhance resiliency, the design also included individual battery packs for lighting fixtures and a connection for a portable generator to power the building in case of emergencies.
