Kettering Health Dayton
HEAPY Solutions provided a turnkey air handling unit replacement for the Kettering Health Dayton campus. This included the design, bidding, permit, management, commissioning and construction. The project included removal of a 30-year-old air handling unit and the installation of a new 13,000 CFM 100% outside air unit in the basement of the hospital. The replacement included new piping, ductwork, controls, electrical and a variable frequency drive on the supply fan. Old pneumatic controls were replaced with a new Automated Logic DDC system that has graphic interface and remote monitoring.
The project was coordinated and configured into a tight location in the basement. It was completed under budget with high owner satisfaction and no requested scope changes. The temperature controls on this AHU now allows the hospital to remotely monitor the unit operation and receive critical alarms at their remote monitoring station. Commissioning of the project resolved several operational issues and delivered a reliable unit operation.
