Dayton International Airport Terminal Renovation

Terminal Renovation

HEAPY provided professional engineering design services for the plumbing, fire suppression, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and electrical systems for the Dayton International Airport Terminal Renovation. The $30 million dollar LEED Certified project involved a comprehensive upgrade to ticketing lobby, baggage claim, security screening area (TSA), building frontage, as well as new building construction for the rental car agencies.

Exterior scope included terminal building elevation renovations, curbside site improvements, pedestrian walkway and sidewalk paving materials, wayfinding and identification signage, and lighting upgrades. Concourses B and C improvements involved exterior wall panels, daylighting and view enhancements, windows and/or curtainwall and skylights, as well as modifications to the building envelope as related to interior volume.

Interior renovations addressed life safety systems, security, Code and ADA accessibility requirements, egress, fire protection/smoke detection, space layouts and allocations, finishes, high-performance lighting systems, controls and daylighting, art integration and interior design, and advertising program coordination/integration. Passenger amenities, hold room seating, podiums and backscreens, restroom finishes, fixtures, and amenities were also upgraded.
