HEAPY provided professional engineering services to Wright State University for the Neuroscience Engineering Collaboration (NEC) Research Laboratory building. The new facility adds capacity and effectiveness, and promotes collaboration between present neuroscience and engineering research facilities on campus.
The building is four stories, with a central atrium surrounded by collaboration spaces, office suites, graduate bullpen and an auditorium. Branching from the central atrium are two wings filled with laboratories, design to be efficient, flexible and adaptable, accommodating the variety of research activities happening within.
The NEC serves as a center for translational research and collaboration in the heart of WSU’s campus, with highly integrated laboratories, core resources, and interactive student spaces. The facility includes the following: biomedical research facilities, medical instructional laboratories, medical research facilities, lecture halls / auditoriums, clean room facilities, flexible configuration design and secure hazardous material bulk storage areas.
