HEAPY is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technology design services for the renovation of the third and fourth floors of the Montgomery County Juvenile Justice Center. The project will allow for the relocation of the Juvenile Probation staff, creating a secure separation between probation and detention areas.
HEAPY conducted a comprehensive cost analysis (e.g., first cost, replacement cost, maintenance cost, energy efficiency) over a 25–50-year time period to provide a recommendation on the best solution for HVAC upgrades and investments to the space.
The current project scope includes:
- 6 client interview rooms
- 5 large classroom/interview rooms
- 61 probation staff offices
- 11 supervisor offices
- 5 manager offices
- Part-time staff offices
- Director’s office with executive assistant and conference space
- Multi-purpose space in the existing library
- Restroom renovation
- New lighting and controls
- HVAC upgrade and reconfiguration
- Access control upgrade and integration with the existing system
