Ashtabula County New Jail and Sheriff’s Office

HEAPY designed the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technology systems for Ashtabula County’s planned new jail and Sheriff’s Office.

The project scope included the design of a 300-bed jail facility and the Sheriff’s administrative offices, with the potential to expand the building to include the Courts in the future.

The facility was designed as a single-story building to be located on a greenfield site, approximately 100,000 square feet in size.

The project had an estimated total construction cost of $33,000,000 in 2021. The project was unable to secure adequate funding to move forward and has yet to be constructed.
