HEAPY designed the Mechanical-Electrical-Plumbing, Technology, and Fire Suppression systems for the new 31,700 SF hangar for the Indianapolis Colts at the Indianapolis Airport Authority.

New hangar includes:

  • Storm safe room – records and occupants

  • Kitchen
  • Shop area
  • Fuel farm
  • Conference room
  • Airplane hangar space
  • Mechanics shop area
  • Equipment storage area
  • Lounge space
  • Battery storage room
  • Fire pump room
  • Floor accommodates a five-ton loader
  • 10’-15’ clear workspace around aircraft
  • Maintenance Personnel Safety Equipment (fall restraint system)

New Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Suppression systems design incorporates:

  • In-floor heat in the Hangar
  • Air conditioning in the Hangar
  • In-floor utilities – aircraft maintenance
  • Foam suppression system

  • Foam Fire Suppression deluge system
