We are proud to announce that our colleague and Project Manager, Michael McCollum, has successfully obtained the ASHRAE Healthcare Facility Design Professional (HFDP) certification! This certification is awarded to those who demonstrate a mastery of healthcare facility design, as well as a well-rounded understanding of medical terminology and healthcare facility operations that impact design. Michael is also a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and has earned an AECOM Project Management Certification.

Michael has over 15 years of design, project management, and construction administration experience, including projects for healthcare and government facilities, pharmacies, water and wastewater utilities, education institutions, and laboratory facilities. He joined HEAPY in 2017 and is currently a Project Manager specializing in healthcare design and project delivery.

When it comes to serving clients, Michael goes above and beyond by taking a genuine interest in the mission and vision of each organization. He cares deeply about the impact his work will have on the quality of life experienced by patients and healthcare providers.

In addition to being a highly skilled project manager and experienced mechanical design engineer, Michael’s dedication to the community and giving back to the next generation of professionals has positioned him as a leader and mentor at HEAPY. Alongside mentorship, he provides continued support to our colleagues and empowers them to create resilient design solutions for our clients and embrace new challenges in a safe and encouraging environment.

Outside of HEAPY, he volunteers his time with the ACE Mentor Program of America, partnering with a local high school STEM club to help young people develop an interest and appreciation for the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (A|E|C) industry.

We congratulate Michael on this tremendous accomplishment!
