Strategies Leader, Sustainability & Resiliency
David will serve as HEAPY’s newly appointed Strategies Leader, Sustainability & Resiliency. In this role, he will be instrumental in the pursuit of HEAPY’s purpose, working to drive continuous improvement and more sustainable design solutions for our clients. In addition, he will collaborate with clients and partners to navigate disruptive change and new technologies that will impact the industry and propel innovation.
“My passions have always driven me to seek out creative solutions that will protect our planet and preserve our natural resources for generations to come,” Deal said.

With more than 15 years in the A|E|C industry, David has been an advocate for sustainable design, energy efficiency, resilient infrastructure, and renewable energy. He previously served as our Columbus Office Leader and a Sustainability and Energy Services Project Manager. He also worked for American Municipal Power, Inc., serving as Director of Energy Policy and Sustainability.
BRYAN KINCH
Senior Specialist, Sustainability & Resiliency
Bryan has been promoted to serve as a Senior Specialist, Sustainability & Resiliency, where he will focus on delivering robust project outcomes that reduce carbon emissions and improve energy efficiency. His expertise includes high-performance building optimization, sustainability certification programs, net zero planning, GHG emissions inventories, and smart building systems technology.
“We know that the work we do today will have an impact for decades to come, so the decisions we make together can truly make a difference – not just today but many years down the road,” Kinch said.
“I’m looking forward to helping our clients find solutions so they can stay resilient and be responsive to the challenges posed by climate change.” |

Bryan has been with HEAPY since 2015, previously serving as a Senior Engineer in our Building Optimization Practice. He has built a reputation for thoroughness and thoughtfulness, helping clients navigate complex issues to reduce energy usage and realize sustainable outcomes.
