PASSING THE PE EXAM

HEAPY is proud to announce Mechanical Engineer Dan Newkirk has successfully passed the Professional Engineer’s exam, earning his Professional Engineering License in the State of Ohio. PE licensure is the engineering profession’s highest standard of competence, a symbol of achievement and assurance of quality.

Dan has been with HEAPY for just over a year and is in our Building Optimization Group. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Purdue University. He is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and a LEED Green Associate. Dan’s design experience includes new and retrofit HVAC systems for chiller plants, DDC control systems, high heat producing telecommunications equipment, laboratories, etc. He is responsible for HVAC Design, including drawings, specifications, field assessments of existing systems and cost estimating.

He has designed systems for various types of buildings including university classroom and laboratory facilities, municipal buildings, telecommunication buildings, office buildings, health care facilities and manufacturing facilities.
