Genesis Bethesda Campus

Heapy designed the Mechanical-Electrical systems for the implementation of the Master Plan to consolidate two hospital campuses. The Hospital’s initiative of the renovation and addition is to deliver expanded services using the best technology for the residents of their community.

The new medical center was built on the grounds of Bethesda Hospital in Zanesville.

Initial plans called for a new patient care tower attached to the renovated Bethesda Hospital building to create a single state-of-the-art medical center. A new outpatient cancer center and medical office building were also be built on the campus.

The new addition includes an emergency/trauma department, intensive care unit, heart center, operating rooms and inpatient rooms. With the new addition and renovation of the existing building, the new facility includes 260 all-private patient rooms.

The expanded medical center includes Centers of Excellence for heart & vascular, cancer, orthopedics, women’s health, neuroscience, and trauma/emergency.

Mount Carmel Health

7Heapy is designing the Mechanical-Electrical systems for the $210 million expansion of Mount Carmel Grove City. The project adds a 500,000 SF, 210-room hospital and 120,000 SF second medical office building.

The expanded campus will feature:

  • New 7-story hospital with all private patient rooms throughout the 210-bed facility
  • Every convenience to engage patients and their families, from easy-to-navigate pathways throughout the facility to bistro-style kitchen and dining and on-demand room service
  • Expanded emergency department; intensive care, maternity, oncology and palliative care services; and 8 new state-of-the-art surgical suites for inpatient and outpatient surgeries
  • New 5-story medical office building connected to the hospital, with primary care, maternal fetal medicine, outpatient oncology and women’s health services
  • Headquarters for Mount Carmel’s Graduate Medical Education program

The first floor of the new Medical Office building consists of an approximately 22,000 SF cancer center with both radiation oncology treatment and medical oncology treatment service lines. There is 1 linear accelerator vault with space for a second. Also included are a CT simulator, HDR vault, 18 infusion bays, 12 exam rooms, retail space, and associated support spaces.

Fairfield Medical Center

Fairfield Medical Center’s Project “BRIGHT” (Build, Revitalize and Innovate for Greater Healthcare Tomorrow) project features 11 OR’s and 36 patient rooms. The addition was built between the main hospital and its surgery pavilion, connecting the two buildings.

Heapy designed the Mechanical-Electrical systems for the $35 million expansion. The new surgery wing allows Fairfield Medical Center to have expanded operating rooms, 100 percent private patient rooms, advanced technology, such as robotic equipment, and improved family waiting areas.

New patient rooms are acuity adaptable and allow for future flexibility for varying patient needs. A new, enhanced entry with improved wayfinding connects the existing hospital to the new addition.

Heapy provided Structured Cabling (Voice/Data/CATV), WLAN, and Electronic Safety and Security (Electronic Access Control, Panic Duress & Closed Circuit Television System) Design for the expansion of the existing hospital with a new wing for new operating rooms and medical offices. A Telecommunications Grounding/Bonding Design was also provided in accordance with TIA/EIA 607A.

Bowling Green State University

In mid 2012, Bowling Green State University and Wood County Hospital announced they would move forward on the development of a new student health center. Heapy was a part of this project by providing the design of the Mechanical-Electrical systems for the new 23,000 SF Falcon Health Center. This new facility enhances student health care, increases efficiency and benefits the broader community.

Falcon Health Center is operated by the hospital and replaces the present Student Health Services building on campus. The new two-story, 23,000 SF building is located at the corner of East Wooster Street and South College Drive.

The first floor features waiting and reception rooms, and business and consultation offices. Patient care functions include lab/blood draw, an X-ray room and holding area, changing room, pharmacy, 20 exam rooms, procedure rooms, an IV area, wellness and patient education rooms, and a nurse station.

Preventive and illness-related health services are provided by a team of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses and other healthcare professionals. Services include general radiology, lab and blood draw, immunizations, nutrition counseling, travel health, sexual health, men’s and women’s health, as well as mental health services. A drive-thru pharmacy is also available.

The project cost was $5 million.
