University of Cincinnati Nippert Stadium
Cost $45,000,000
Size 100,000 SF
HEAPY provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design services for a new West Pavilion structure for Nippert Stadium. The new, 100,000 SF building replaced the smaller Press Box, concession, and toilet facilities along the west concourse. In addition to replacing all existing game day functions, the larger structure now provides enhanced premium seating opportunities in the form of Box Seats, Lounge Boxes, and Private Suites for a total increased capacity of approximately 2,000 seats.
The West Pavilion structure includes enlarged toilet and concession facilities on all levels, improved pedestrian access along Bearcat Way, and elevated premium seating access from several levels of the adjacent TUC facility. Areas of pre-function space on the upper levels of the new Pavilion now connect with existing facilities and functions of the TUC complex, creating multiple-use options, including meeting rooms and dining activities, both during and post-football season.
Game day operations, media center, broadcast, and coaching facilities occupy the uppermost floor. Field lighting was relocated from existing poles to the Pavilion roof structure. New elevators and vertical circulation now provide full ADA access for patrons, service personnel, media, and coaching staff as required.
The project achieved LEED Silver certification.
