Project Detail:

Cost $250,000

Size 310 SF

Markets:

With the anticipation of growth, Nationwide Children’s Hospital contracted HEAPY to provide MEP engineering design and field observation services for the relocation of the Audiology Booth from the Westerville Close to Home Clinic to the Surgery Center, both located on the same campus. With an emphasis on timely and accurate delivery, HEAPY promptly conducted an on-site assessment of the existing Audio Booth and supporting infrastructure, accelerating the relocation process.

Scope of Work

The project involved facilitating the relocation of the existing Audiology Booth from the Westerville Close to Home facility to the Surgery Center in the adjacent building. The existing MEP infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, was investigated to determine the current layout and capacity of the utilities serving the proposed relocation space. Coordination with the Audio Booth relocation vendor was included to ensure proper utilities and installation preparations for the new location.

As part of the renovation, the existing lighting was updated to meet current NCH standards, with new LED fixtures provided. The benefits of enhanced lighting in healthcare settings extend beyond aesthetics. Proper lighting supports better performance of complex visual tasks and plays a significant role in improving staff alertness and treating conditions such as hyperbilirubinemia in infants. By incorporating these lighting improvements, this project benefits both patients and staff by creating a healthier, more efficient environment.
