HEAPY provided professional engineering design and field observation services for the heating, ventilating, air conditioning, electrical systems, plumbing, and fire suppression design for the new, 14,300 SF, single level Montville Police and Fire Station.
A Fire Suppression system was designed for the jail area as a regular hazard space. Plumbing design was provided for men’s and women’s locker and shower facilities and miscellaneous restroom and kitchenette requirements. Due to local low flow domestic water delivery to the site, a domestic water storage tank and pressurization pump system were included in the design.
HVAC systems were designed to provide a Variable Air Volume (VAV) system having packaged roof top units, with night setback and DDC automatic temperature controls. Separate self-contained systems were provided for the Dispatch and Communications Equipment rooms for 24-hour operation.
HVAC systems are gas heat.
The Electrical systems design provides power for equipment required for building operation and Owner furnished systems for the Police and Fire operation. An emergency power generator is included to accommodate reliable building operation and Police and Fire functions.
A Detention Electronic Control System (DECS) was designed for single point touch screen control of CCTV, Building Access Control and intercom in an integrated system.
