Cleveland Steel Container New Manufacturing Facility

HEAPY is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technology design for a new 115,000 SF production facility for Cleveland Steel Container in Warren, OH. This facility features proprietary production equipment developed, and custom-built by the owner, necessitating close coordination to bring appropriate MEP services to this unique equipment. In addition, MEP services were provided for multiple Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers (RTOs).

- Flammable Liquid Storage
- Warehouse

- Lunch Room
The HVAC systems encompass a variety of advanced solutions tailored to different areas of the facility. For the office areas and testing laboratory, Packaged Rooftop Units have been installed, featuring gas heating and DX cooling to ensure a comfortable and controlled environment. The IT room is equipped with an AC Split System, specifically chosen for its efficiency in maintaining optimal temperatures for sensitive technological equipment. The production area benefits from Air Rotation Units, providing robust and reliable heat, ventilation, and makeup air for building pressurization. Radiant Tube Heaters have been strategically placed in the truck docks to deliver focused heating in these crucial areas. In addition, a vehicle exhaust system was designed for semi-trucks unloading materials within the facility.
The electrical systems are designed to be reliable and resilient. Electrical scope includes utility service entrance and coordination for both new and temporary power requirements, as well as power distribution network comprising transformers, bus ducts, panelboards, and other essential components. Underground conduits between the main switchboard and distribution panelboards have been utilized to facilitate unobtrusive and secure electrical routing. Lighting design for both interior and exterior areas with advanced lighting controls is included.
Plumbing scope includes cold/hot domestic water, plumbing and drainage fixtures, natural gas service and distribution, sanitary drainage and vent, and compressed air system.
