City of Centerville Police Headquarters
HEAPY provided professional engineering design services to the City of Centerville’s new, 37,000 SF Police Headquarters.
Types of Spaces
General offices, detective offices, interview rooms, five cell, eight-hour detention area, booking area, five position shooting range, roll call room, locker rooms, fitness room, two bay sally port, secure evidence storage, dispatch, vehicle storage, shooting simulator room, conference rooms, and a multipurpose video conference room.
A variable volume air handling system serves the majority of the building. Cooling is provided by an air-cooled chiller with heating provided by hot water boilers.
HEAPY designed the DECS, (Detention Electronic Control System), for the facility. This consisted of remote door control, door monitoring, video cameras with digital recording, intercom stations, and proximity door controls.
The shooting range was designed with a rear laminar flow air distribution system to keep lead exposure below OSHA standards. The range exhaust was provided with HEPA filters to keep lead discharge below EPA standards.
