A major renovation project was completed at a cost of $10 million. The temporary exhibition galleries and a majority of the permanent collection galleries were extensively renovated. A courtyard infill addition affords added gallery space.

The HVAC systems serving the renovated spaces were upgraded. DDC controls were added to provide better temperature and humidity control and programmed control of exhibit and night lighting.

Galleries were provided with new track mounted exhibit lighting and night/emergency egress lighting. The normal and emergency electrical distribution systems were upgraded and the security system expanded for the renovation.
