Butler Tech Bioscience Center

Project Detail:

Cost $13,000,000

Size 32,815 SF

Markets:

HEAPY designed the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, and also provided commissioning services, for Butler Tech’s new, $13,000,000 Bioscience Center. The two-story, 32,815 SF center houses bioscience and health education and career training programs for high school students, including programs in exercise science, dental assisting, State Tested Nursing Aide (STNA), and medical terminology. The Dental Assisting program prepares students to work with dentists and in dental laboratories. The training consists of learning computer assisted office practices and procedures, patient preparation and comfort, chair-side assisting procedures, and the use of laboratory materials and equipment.

The HEAPY team collaborated closely with Butler Tech to integrate the latest technology and tools in respective fields of study. This approach was critical to ensure that students would graduate “career ready” and have experience with up-to-date tools and techniques that are critical to success in these fast-paced industries.

This first building also included adult education programs, and new offices for the West Chester and Liberty Chamber Alliance. The project was part of Butler Tech’s long-range plan to create a 150,000 SF campus with five interconnected buildings on the 25-acre site, offering high school students and adults career and technical training in the healthcare and bioscience fields.
