Darrin Thompson, LEED AP BD+C

Darrin is Senior Mechanical Engineer and a Plumbing Technical Leader for our Education and Corporate Practices. He boasts more than 32 years of experience in plumbing and fire protection design. He has successfully executed projects for government, criminal justice, healthcare, commercial, education, recreational, and laboratory facilities.

Darrin is responsible for the systems concept, design, cost estimating, specification writing, and construction follow-up for the projects. He focuses on providing reliable and efficient systems that meet owner project requirements and provide ease of maintenance for facilities personnel. As a technical leader, Darrin helps maintain and update the firm’s standard specifications, details, and design processes, and he also oversees the internal technical training of our plumbing design staff.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. He is a USGBC LEED accredited professional and an associate member of the American Society of Plumbing Engineers. In his free time, Darrin is an aspiring home coffee roaster who sells high-quality, hand-selected coffee varietals, much to the enjoyment of his colleagues in the Dayton, Ohio office!
