education sessions
AM EDUCATION SESSION - Track 1
9:30 AM – 11:00 AM
Integrating Sustainability, Resilience, and Operational Efficiency Healthcare Environments
Session hosted by ACHE of Indiana

Pending ACHE In-Person*, AIA LU/HSWs, GBCI CEs, PDHs

How sustainability and energy efficiency tie directly to long-term financial and operational performance.

*This program was developed and will be presented locally by ACHE of Indiana. The American College of Healthcare Executives may award ACHE In-Person Education Credits to this program. ACHE has implemented a new check-in procedure this year. Attendees will check in onsite using an event QR code and submission form to receive In-Person Credits. These submissions will go directly to the national office to expedite the awarding of credits.  We appreciate your assistance with this new procedure.

AM EDUCATION SESSION - Track 2
9:30 AM – 10:30 AM
Resiliency, Efficiency, and Decarbonization Across the Building Life Cycle

Pending AIA LU/HSWs, GBCI CEs, PDHs

Buildings evolve continuously—from early concept through occupancy and multiple retrofits. Each phase presents opportunities to enhance sustainability, energy performance, long‑term resiliency, and reduce waste through early design and operational decisions that support material circularity and extend the life of building components. This session examines how owners and design teams can apply forward‑looking strategies such as integrated project delivery, early‑stage simulation, data‑driven commissioning, fault detection and diagnostics, digital twins, and waste‑stream planning to optimize outcomes throughout a building’s life cycle.

Panelists will share real‑world approaches to infrastructure planning, deconstruction and material salvage, continuous monitoring, and strategic decarbonization, demonstrating how design, construction, and operational practices collectively influence both carbon and waste outcomes. Attendees will gain practical insights into aligning sustainability goals with financial and operational priorities to ensure buildings remain resilient, future‑ready, and supportive of circular‑economy objectives.

KEYNOTE LUNCHEON
11:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Advancing High-Performance Buildings in a Changing Market

Pending AIA LU/HSWs, GBCI CEs, PDHs

This session brings together diverse perspectives shaping the delivery of high‑performing buildings—from financing and economic development to code enforcement and project execution. The discussion will focus on how evolving infrastructure technologies, sustainability and resilience goals, and performance expectations are challenging existing codes and standards that were not written with these uses and outcomes in mind.

Panelists will explore how communities, developers, designers, and public agencies are navigating regulatory gaps, approvals, and funding constraints to deliver projects that go beyond “code minimum.”

Attendees will gain a practical, real‑world understanding of what it takes to plan, approve, and deliver high‑performance buildings in today’s economic and regulatory environment.

PM EDUCATION SESSION - Track 1
1:30 PM – 3:00 PM
Digital Transformation of the Built Environment: Bridging Data, Technology, and Human Experience
Session hosted by ACHE of Indiana

Pending ACHE In-Person*, AIA LU/HSWs, GBCI CEs, PDHs

How data analytics, smart buildings, and digital twins are shaping next-generation healthcare delivery.

*This program was developed and will be presented locally by ACHE of Indiana. The American College of Healthcare Executives may award ACHE In-Person Education Credits to this program. PM EDUCATION SESSION - Track 2
1:30 PM – 2:30 PM
Designing a Vertical, Mixed Use Urban Campus: Purdue University Downtown Indianapolis Case Study

Pending AIA LU/HSWs, GBCI CEs, PDHs

This session presents a detailed case study of the 16‑story, mixed‑use academic and residential facility that anchors the campus, integrating classrooms, chemistry labs, maker spaces, student housing, dining, and street‑level retail within a dense city context.

The presentation explores how the project team designed a flexible, experiential learning environment that supports project‑based education, STEM enrichment programs, and industry partnerships while advancing Purdue’s mission of higher education at scale.

Attendees will gain insight into planning strategies, vertical campus organization, and integrated building systems—including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design—that enable adaptability, community engagement, and long‑term performance. The session will also examine the project’s role within the Hard‑Tech Corridor, connecting Indianapolis to Purdue’s West Lafayette campus and the LEAP Innovation District.
