Lara is a Project Manager at Schaefer. With postgraduate degrees in both structural engineering and architecture, she brings a unique perspective to balancing essential structural elements with desired architectural aesthetics.

Lara has 15 years of industry experience and has spent approximately half of her career at Schaefer. She works on a diverse range of projects that vary in size, location, and purpose.

Passionate about sustainability and making a positive impact on the built environment, Lara began leading Schaefer’s sustainability initiative in 2021. As the initiative champion, she has contributed thought leadership and provides resources to colleagues who are designing to meet sustainability goals or are interested in expanding their knowledge in this area.

Lara is a member of the National Council of Structural Engineers Associations’ (NCSEA) Sustainable Design Committee and founded the Structural Engineers Association of Ohio’s (SEAoO) Sustainable Design Committee. She currently serves as Past President of SEAoO.

In addition, Lara serves as the Continuing Education Chair and a Director on the ACI Central Ohio Board of Directors
