Derek believes that where you live shouldn’t determine how well you live, and that belief has guided every step of his career in healthcare. From his early days as a staff pharmacist to leading hospital operations across multiple regions, he has built his career on one enduring principle: the best healthcare systems are built from the bedside up. Derek’s clinical background as a PharmD gives him a lens that few executives share, one rooted in patient safety, medication outcomes, and the operational details that can make or break care delivery.

Today, as President of the Northwest Region for Community Health Network, he is honored to serve the communities of Westfield, Kokomo, and the surrounding areas. In this role, he is focused on three things: strengthening access to high-quality care, developing leaders who are deeply connected to their communities, and building a regional health system that patients and families can trust for generations. Derek’s path – Staff Pharmacist, Pharmacy Operations Manager, Director of Pharmacy Strategic Projects, Vice President of Operations, Hospital Administrator, Regional President- has given him a 360-degree view of what it takes to run a high-performing, compassionate health system.

The MBA and FACHE designation reflect his commitment to bringing both business rigor and healthcare-specific expertise to every decision. Outside the boardroom, Derek is a servant leader at heart. He believes in showing up for his teams, his community, and the people he serves.
