RESPONSIBILITIES

Under supervision from a more experienced Design Engineering Colleague, performs routine technical assignments which are clearly defined and require the application of standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

This position normally requires a 4-year engineering degree from an ABET accredited program and a working knowledge of various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment. This position requires 2 years of prior relevant experience regarding engineering in the Built Environment.  Equivalent working knowledge/prior experience as a Co-op or Intern or advance degree may be considered in lieu of a 4-year engineering degree.  If not already accomplished, should be pursuing a Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Certification in order to be prepared for Professional Engineering (PE) Registration once required work experience is achieved.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with more experienced Engineering Colleagues to prepare basic plan details and outlines, cost estimates, and performs calculations in support of broader engineering activities involving the design of equipment, components, or systems.
  • Gathers and records information to be used for preparation of specifications.
  • Reviews vendor shop drawings and submittals to assure compliance with specifications.
  • Prepares routine technical reports or sections of reports.
  • Collaborate with Field Observation Colleagues to performs field observations and tests, measurements, collect field data, and prepare field reports and related documentation.
