Cincinnati Financial Corp
Heapy Engineering provided the Mechanical-Electrical design for the 9-story addition and 3-story atrium to the Cincinnati Financial Corporation Headquarters completed in 2000.
The 410,000 SF addition with 30,000 SF renovation includes a 6” raised floor system for computer/data (floors 3-9), flexible office space, 45,000 square foot conference/classroom, dining/banquet center and existing loading dock renovation.
Heapy Engineering provided CFC with state-of-the-art MEP systems that included redundancy features in all systems including water, gas, HVAC and electric. Some unique design features include dedicated fresh air units in series with the heating/cooling air-handling units for pressurization and to provide minimum outside air requirements. Also the emergency generators were sized to handle the entire complex of HVAC systems, lights, ventilation, and some cooling.
The engineering and construction of the new facility, attached by an atrium to the fully operational existing building was a design and phasing challenge. Producing minimal disruption to the Owner’s day-to-day operations was the most difficult challenge and the most rewarding success on this project.
The commitment to precise and high quality engineering and construction resulted in a state-of-the-art office building that was completed safely, under budget, and on schedule
