Mad River School District
Heapy Engineering designed the Mechanical-Electrical systems for the Stebbins High School renovation. The majority of the high school was replaced, but the district decided to keep the existing auditorium and gymnasium. The addition was constructed around the auditorium and gym and the remainder of the building was demolished after construction of the addition was completed.
To support the educational program of the district, vocational/technical education was included in the addition. This includes classrooms for cosmetology, mechanics and a variety of other state vo-tech programs. The project was completed in 2005 with a total construction cost of $24,600,000 and a Mechanical-Electrical construction cost of $7,600,000.
Heapy also designed the Mechanical-Electrical systems for four new elementary schools that were built on existing sites. The new 47,125 SF Beverly Gardens Elementary houses 377 students. Brantwood, Salville and Virginia Stevenson Elementary Schools accommodate 378 students and are 47,250 SF. Construction was completed in 2004 and 2005 for these buildings.
The project also included two new middle schools. The new 80,245 SF Mad River Middle School houses grades 5-6 and accommodates 627 students. The new Spinning Hills 7-8 Middle School houses 687 students and is 96,867 SF. Both new middle schools were constructed on the existing middle school sites. Construction was completed in 2005.
