The Ohio State University Woody Hayes Athletic Center
Heapy Engineering designed the Mechanical-Electrical systems for the addition of 40,357 SF to provide administrative offices for the coaches, a new entrance lobby/trophy display area, player lounge, player recreation area including indoor basketball and racket ball, catering kitchen, and an aqua training facility.
Approximately 23,564 SF was renovated to provide enhanced water therapy and plunge pool areas, weight training room expansion and interview/presentation rooms.
Exterior renovations included a secure player/coaches parking area with bus access, utility relocation including water, gas, power and telecommunications. A new primary substation expansion is required to replace the existing substation to accommodate the increased needs of the WHAC and provide power to the proposed Varsity Tennis center.
The project was completed in 2008 with a total construction cost of $12,954,000.
