Bowling Green State University Wood County Falcon Health Center
In mid 2012, Bowling Green State University and Wood County Hospital announced they would move forward on the development of a new student health center. Heapy Engineering was a part of this project by providing the design of the Mechanical-Electrical systems for the new 23,000 SF Falcon Health Center. This new facility will enhance student health care, increase efficiency and benefit the broader community.
Falcon Health Center, is operated by the hospital and replaces the present Student Health Services building on campus. The new two-story, 23,000 SF building is located at the corner of East Wooster Street and South College Drive.
The first floor will have waiting and reception rooms, and business and consultation offices. Patient care functions include lab/blood draw, an X-ray room and holding area, changing room, pharmacy, 20 exam rooms, procedure rooms, an IV area, wellness and patient education rooms, and a nurse station.
Preventive and illness-related health services will be provided by a team of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses and other healthcare professionals. Services include general radiology, lab and blood draw, immunizations, nutrition counseling, travel health, sexual health, men’s and women’s health, as well as mental health services. A drive-thru pharmacy is also available.
The $5 million Health Center was opened in August 2013.
