University of Dayton GE Aviation Episcenter
Heapy Engineering designed the Mechanical-Electrical systems for the 115,000 SF Electrical Power Integrated Systems Research and Development Center (EPISCENTER). The $51 million Research and Development Center is located on roughly eight acres on the University of Dayton’s campus on River Park Drive. The University worked with CityWide Development Corp to build the facility to GE’s specifications.
The center will focus on several markets, including end-to-end electrical power starter/generation, conversion, distribution and load technologies for civil and military aerospace applications. The project was completed in 2013.
