Jewish Hospital Kenwood Expansion
Heapy Engineering is providing Mechanical-Electrical Design Services for the $80 million expansion project at Jewish Hospital in Kenwood. About 32,000 SF of the hospital’s existing interior is being renovated, part of which involves filling in the atrium of the hospital to create additional floor space.
Other upgrades and new construction are underway for the emergency department, intensive care unit, blood and marrow transplant center, orthopedic unit, cardiology, neuroscience and Medical Education Center, including its auditorium.
The project also includes a new, six-story patient tower facing Galbraith Road and encompassing 154,000 SF. The number of patient beds (207) will stay the same, but the hospital plans to make all patient rooms private.
A new main entrance is also planned for the hospital at 4777 E. Galbraith Road. Work has already been completed on a new south parking lot.
