Mount Carmel St Ann's
Heapy Engineering designed the Mechanical-Electrical systems for the renovation and expansion of St. Ann’s Hospital.
The project will add a 60-bed patient tower, heart center, new main entry, renovated kitchen, dining addition, parking garage and addition to the central utility plant for chillers and generators.
Specifically, the heart center expansion will allow St. Ann’s to offer a wide range of state-of-the-art cardiovascular services, including diagnostic cardiac catheterizations, interventional cardiology services such as angioplasty, non-invasive cardiovascular diagnostic testing, electrophysiology services, peripheral vascular diagnostic and interventional services. This will result in a new multi-story wing to the hospital.
Heapy Engineering provided Structured Cabling (Voice/Data/CATV), a Distributed Antenna System, WLAN, a Nurse Call System and Electronic Safety & Security (Electronic Access Control and Closed Circuit Television System) Design for the Patient Tower Addition. A Telecommunications Grounding/Bonding Design was also provided in accordance with TIA/EIA 607A.
Along with the heart center, the St. Ann’s project also expands other services including obstetrics, orthopedics and stroke care.
The hospital will also get a new look. The main entrance will move from Cleveland Avenue to the south side of the complex.
Construction of the $61,400,000 renovation and addition will be completed in late 2013.
