Dillard University Professional Schools Commissioning
Heapy Engineering provided LEED Commissioning Services for the new Science and Professional Schools Building at Dillard University. It includes the science, mathematics and business school departments. There are science laboratories, faculty offices, classrooms, and a large lecture hall. Chilled water for the facility was provided by another source on campus.
The following building systems were commissioned:
• Central Air Handling Systems
• Chilled Water System
• Exhaust Ventilation Systems
• Split Systems
• Automatic Temperature Control System
• Lighting Control Systems
• Domestic water generation, distribution, pumping and mixing systems
• Terminal Units (Variable Air Volume Units)
• Unit Heaters
• Building Shell
The new building houses academic and research programs in Natural Sciences & Public Health, Nursing and Business. The building has a common grand entrance/atrium that is a focal point for community and student social interaction.
This building is LEED Gold.
The project was completed in 2009.
