Centre College Eugene Brockman Residential Commons
Heapy Engineering provided Commissioning Services and LEED Program Management for the $15,000,000 Eugene Brockman Residential Commons, which has enabled Centre College to remain highly residential as it continues to grow gradually over the next several years.
The residential village provides transitional housing for upperclass students, the overwhelming majority of whom will have lived and studied abroad and who are preparing for independent living.
The village houses about 120-130 students and was completed by the opening of the 2012-2013 academic year. Set on a 4-acre footprint formerly occupied by a parking lot near the Jones Visual Arts Center on Beatty Avenue, the facility has achieved LEED Silver certification.
