With Heapy Engineering’s Corporate Mission to “Reduce the Energy Impact of the Built Environment,” what a better place to start than with the young and creative minds at our regional Universities!
To assist the Miami University student project team in the US Department of Energy’s Annual Race to Zero Student Design Competition,Heapy provided a joint Net Zero Design Charrette (also attended by University of Dayton engineeringstudents). After several additional on-campus and in-house review meetings with top Heapy Design staff, we are very pleased to say the Miami Team was selected as a finalist for the Competition! (As a finalist, the team will present to industry-recognized jurors, April 22-23, 2017, at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colorado).
Also as part of the overall effort to impart Net Zero knowledge per the Architectural Department’s request, Heapy provided design advice to the graduate student Building Design class on how to design for Net Zero.
We congratulate the Miami University Race to Zero team and wish them much success at the Competition presentations in April!
