Heapy Engineering provided Mechanical-Electrical design for Holophane Research and Development Building to accommodate the application of LEED Program Management. This 29,500 SF facility provides Research and Development services for Holophane lighting fixtures.
The Owner could not afford to replace the existing primary building's air handler unit because of the high first cost, even though it was not adequately cooling the building. Thinking outside of the box, Heapy designed several small air handlers to serve areas of high equipment loads. This allowed us to divert air from these areas into other areas and make improvements in the overall building comfort at a lower first cost to the Owner.
Heapy also provided Commissioning Services and LEED Program Management Services for the new building.
This project is LEED Silver Certified.
The project was completed with a total construction cost of $1,018,000.
